David Tennant may play an immortal demon on Good Omens but he's revealed that he came close to death whilst filming the second series.

The Doctor Who star said "it's a miracle" he wasn't "hit by a car" on the Good Omens set after struggling to see thanks to his character's costume.

The 52-year-old, who returns as Crowley for season 2 of the fantasy comedy, said that the demon's snake-eyed contact lenses make acting "quite a challenge". "It seems like night when it is day – and then if I add the dark glasses – I basically fumble around." "In the first scene we shot this season, I had to cross the road which we had populated with moving cars and hundreds of supporting artists to recreate busy Soho - and I couldn’t see a thing," he added. “It’s a miracle I was not hit by a car - maybe the mojo of Crowley just stopped them!

It’s a small price to pay for such a delicious character.” David stars alongside Michael Sheen on the Prime Video series, which follows angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley as they run a bookshop in Soho together, having recently been fired from Heaven and Hell.
