Just check out this story from one of his exes! Way back in 2003 — ironically, just about two months after he married his current wife — Dave’s ex Tina Basich published a memoir in which she called him out for cheating on her!
The book, titled Pretty Good for a Girl: The Autobiography of a Snowboarding Pioneer, features a section in which the athlete reflects on her two-year romance with the rockstar — and the horrible way things ended! The pair dated for about two years in the late ’90s and split around the time Tina broke her leg, which caused a major career setback.
During the relationship, she recalled the musician being super “busy” with his “multimillion-dollar record contracts, deadlines with record labels, music videos [and] press tours” while simultaneously “trying to maintain a focus on being creative and writing music.” Naturally, this impacted their romance, she wrote: She felt she was “taking time away from his career” while also putting hers “in the backseat without even realizing it.” And then she learned the truth.
