Kate Middleton returns to royal duties in first engagement since July

Kate Middleton has held her first meeting at Windsor Castle after revealing last week that she had finished her chemotherapy treatment.

In the official Court Circular of engagements undertaken by working royals, an entry from yesterday read: “The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron, The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this afternoon held an Early Years Meeting at Windsor Castle.” The princess has for a number of years been interested in the importance of early childhood experiences.

She launched the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood back in June 2021, with its website calling the period between conception and the age of five “the time when the building blocks are established, laying foundations that help provide greater resilience.” READ MORE: Prince William and Kate send Harry surprise birthday message as he turns 40 Kensington Palace confirmed it is the first noted mention of Kate working since she was first hospitalised in January for abdominal surgery, the Mirror reported.

The princess spent two weeks in hospital before being discharged to recover at home. Weeks later, doctors delivered a secondary diagnosis of cancer before she began a course of preventive chemotherapy.
