Dame Esther Rantzen has shared her final wishes in life, as she pushes for the UK to allow doctor-assisted death, after being diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.
The famous telly host, now 83, has said she wishes to be remembered "with love and laughter" after having joined the Swiss euthanasia clinic Dignitas.
While chatting to Radio Times, she shared her mission to change laws around end of life help. She explained: "Having been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, I'm now, at the age of 83, dedicated to a new campaign close to my heart to change the law on assisted dying.
I'm optimistic about the prospect of that being legalised within ten years because there is now a huge majority of the public in favour of change." She added: "The law at the moment just doesn't work.
