Coronation Street confirms Martin Platt return details as actor reprises role after six years
manchestereveningnews.co.ukCoronation Street has officially confirmed that Martin Platt will be back on the cobbles later this year after rumours of a return started to swirl following news of Gail Platt's departure from the famous street.
Actor Sean Wilson has reprised the role, six years after he last returned to the ITV soap and begins filming on Wednesday (July 24).
He will first appear on screen in October as part of Helen Worth’s exit storyline. It was announced last month that the legendary actress will be stepping back from her long-running role as she reaches a mammoth 50 years at Corrie.
She joined the ITV soap at 23 years old in 1974, which was 14 years after viewers were first introduced to the people of Weatherfield.
