Conservative MSP welcomes extra UK Government funding for Lanarkshire

A Lanarkshire MSP has welcomed the “green light” given by the UK Government to bids submitted by Lanarkshire to the Shared Prosperity Fund.The UK Government have confirmed that all bids will be given the go-ahead, as part of a £212 million investment in Scotland through the fund.Lanarkshire will receive over £26 million thanks to the UK Government.

The Conservatives Central Scotland list MSP Meghan Gallacher told Lanarkshire Live: “The approval of these bids that were submitted by Lanarkshire is hugely positive news. “It is just the latest example of the UK Government delivering tangible benefits for people and communities in Lanarkshire.“This fund will deliver to those who need it most, including businesses who are going through a tough time and to improve people’s skillset.“I will be working closely with Conservative councillor colleagues in Lanarkshire to ensure this funding is delivered to organisations and individuals who require it now the green light has been given by the UK Government.”
