The owners of a Cheshire golf club say they are not in talks with Manchester United about the sale of the facility. A recent report from The Daily Mail claimed United had been looking to buy land for a new state-of-the-art training ground, with the High Legh Park Golf Club supposedly considered.
The report said 'preliminary talks' had taken place about the purchase of the High Legh club, but an 'agreement hadn't been reached'.
Now a spokesperson for owners American Golf, has told The Chester Standard: “No conversations between High Legh Park Golf Club and Manchester United are currently taking place." High Legh Park would tick a lot of those boxes, given it is currently home to an 18-hole championship course, a nine-hole course, a 24-bay floodlit driving range, a retail store, a clubhouse bar and a restaurant.
