Celebrity Gogglebox star Shaun Ryder has opened up about using Ozempic after gaining weight over lockdown, revealing that he "ballooned up to 15 stone" due to his long-standing health condition.

Shaun, 62, opened up to OK! about his health in an exclusive chat and said that he has been taking Ozempic - a medicine used to treat diabetes and for weight management - over the last few years. “It was so hard to get off what I put on in lockdown.
I ballooned up to 15st and just couldn’t get rid of it, even with cycling,” he said. “I got on Ozempic and it’s great!" He added that he finds it hard to lose weight due to suffering with an underactive thyroid, which can cause weight gain, tiredness, memory issues and other symptoms due to the thyroid gland failing to produce enough hormones. “If I stop taking it, I’ll probably put it on again.
