John Rankin has hailed Hamilton Accies striker Ryan One for drowning out the noise surrounding a potential move down south to English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.

Accies announced in a statement in June that they had booted out a bid from the Seagulls, but they did allow defender Gabe Forsyth to seal a switch to Norwich City last month, while Josh McDonald joined Leeds United.Seventeen-year-old One, the son of former Livingston and Stranraer striker Armand, has been linked with a host of clubs in the close season, including Liverpool, Newcastle and both halves of the Old Firm. But the Coatbride kid has been focused on helping Accies prepare for their League One campaign, which kicks-off on Saturday. And his attitude has earned high praise from his gaffer - who is keen to hang onto his striker ahead of the transfer window closing on September 1.Rankin said: "It is hard for Ryan because it has been well documented that teams are looking at him and things are going on."But what I will say is, he has been very mature about it.

He has been really focused and he hasn't wavered at all - so much so that he's played a part in every game for us so far in the cups and pre-season."He started on Saturday [against Cove Rangers] and it will be a case of continuing to drip feed him into games because he is very much part of our plans."Whether things develop on that, I don't know but there has been nothing since the club's statement a few weeks ago."Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
