It is not yet currently known what resulted in the crash off the coast of Palma, however, passengers on board the P&O Britannia ship said they believe it was due to strong winds and unfavourable conditions.
Local publications reported on Sunday morning how a storm "suddenly hit" the island with heavy rain and hail alongside strong gusts of wind.
One passenger on board, who shared pictures of the collision to Wales Online but wanted to remain anonymous, said the ship was anchored less than a mile from shore following the accident.
Pictures show the ship's decks damaged, with tables and chairs in disarray.
