UPDATE, 11:58 AM: The two-year old lawsuit between Bohemian Rhapsody writer Anthony McCarten and the producers of the Oscar-winning film is over.
On Halloween, lawyers for the two-time Oscar nominee filed “request for dismissal” paperwork in Los Angeles Superior Court. The document asks that McCarten’s November 2021 profits action against the Graham King-run GK Films LLC and production company WAGW Inc.
over the blockbuster biopic to to be dismissed “with prejudice.” This ends for good the lawsuit where McCarten sought to be paid the 5% of GK’s profits he says he was promised for writing the Freddie Mercury film.
No information on any settlement or other details were made public in this October 31 dismissal filing.
