Biggar bookshop Atkinson-Pryce nominated for independent retailer award

A South Lanarkshire bookshop which recently marked its 30th anniversary is among the 10 nominees shortlisted for a Scotland-wide title for independent bookshops.Biggar business Atkinson-Pryce Books is in the running for the independent bookshop of the year title, with the winner joining those from eight other regions to go forward to the British book awards in May for the overall title of small press of the year.

The much-loved local business, located on the town’s High Street, celebrated its special birthday in 2023 with an “open shop” birthday party and a host of author visits, special events and expanding the range of books and magazines on its shelves.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
