A Manchester nightclub used as a filming location for hit 90s show Queer as Folk is to mark the 25th anniversary of the series by changing its name for one weekend only.

Cruz 101, in Manchester’s Gay Village, will be renamed Babylon for two nights to pay homage to Queer as Folk. The show, which began on Channel 4 on 23 February, 1999, followed a group of gay men who lived around the Gay Village and became a cultural phenomenon at the time helping boost the area’s many bars and clubs.

The club will host two parties dedicated to the Russell T Davies show, on Friday and Saturday night (February 23 and 24) featuring a booming soundtrack full of 90s anthems, a specially-created light show, and performances from go-go dancers and drag queens. Try MEN Premium now for FREE...
