Ben Shephard was left trying to hold back the tears as he presented Good Morning Britain for the last time. The presenter announced last week that he was leaving the ITV news programme as he'd landed the new main host gig on This Morning.
He is now the new co-host of the ITV daytime show alongside Cat Deeley and the pair will replace previous main hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby following their sudden exits within months of each other last year.
Ben and Cat will follow the same working pattern as the previous hosts, presenting the show from Monday to Thursday while Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary continue to present their usual Friday show and stand-in during various breaks throughout the year alongside other members of the This Morning family.
