BBC Breakfast's Carol Kirkwood has spoken of her shock and "disappointment" over the recent scandal surrounding Strictly Come Dancing.The controversy hit a crescendo with professional dancers Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima being cut from the programme after accusations arose concerning their conduct during rehearsals.Legal inquiries have been launched following allegations by Amanda Abbington, who accused Giovanni of bullying and humiliating her in training, something he vehemently denies.

Despite having been announced as returning for the milestone series, Graziano too was dismissed.He later admitted to kicking his dance partner Zara McDermott, but denied accusations that he spat at her.

When quizzed about the unfolding drama, Carol, 62, who competed on the dance show in 2015, shared her thoughts. Carol divulged: "Yes [I'm surprised], I'm really disappointed as well, they're doing the right thing by investigating all these claims."She fondly recollected her time on the series with her "lovely" dance partner Pasha Kovalev, mentioning she hadn't seen or heard about any issues amongst her contemporaries at the time.Additionally, the weather presenter conceded that she no longer follows the show as closely as before.
