A man had over half his life savings swiped from him as he was about to pay them into his bank account. The 24 year-old who does not want to be named, fell victim to a devious and callous 'distraction theft' whilst inside his local branch of Natwest.

The devastated hotel worker had withdrawn from £3,180, from the Nationwide building society on Sankey Street in Warrington where he lives, at around 2:30pm on Wednesday, June 19 this year.

Wanting to transfer it between accounts, he took it by hand to the branch of Natwest a few hundred yards away on the opposite side of the street in Warrington town centre.
