Strictly Come Dancing star Layton Williams has opened up about his 'connection' to his co-star after their dancing journey came to an end.

It has been a pretty epic three weeks for the Bury-born star and his professional dance partner Nikita Kuzmin. The pair made it to the final of the BBC One dance contest back in December alongside Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell and Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola.

On the night in December, Layton and Nikita topped the leaderboard with a string of perfect scores from the judges for their dazzling routines.

However, it wasn't meant to be as following the public vote, which the final results were based on, it was former Coronation Street star Ellie who emerged victorious alongside professional pro Vito.
