BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden says it's 'that time of the month' as she shares 'first' update

Amy Dowden has shared an update following her cancer battle last year. The Strictly Come Dancing star told her fans it was 'that time of the month' as she was seen back at the hospital for her regular injection.

Last May, Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer after finding a lump just before heading on her honeymoon with Ben Jones following the dream wedding.

She quickly underwent a mastectomy and then underwent a tricky course of chemotherapy treatment that saw her face a number of setbacks and meant she couldn't take part in last year's series of Strictly. READ MORE: Gemma Atkinson supported as she admits putting on 'face' and says 'it's not the same' But earlier this year, the Welsh dancer was given the positive news that there was no evidence of disease, however, she will not receive the "all clear" for five years due to her type of cancer.

Amy is now, however, gearing up for her return to the BBC One dance contest but before heading to rehearsals on Monday (August 5), she headed for the monthly injection she needs as part of her ongoing treatment.
