The wild BBC One challenge Race Across The World provides an epic adventure for cast members, but production secrets have revealed just how intense it is with contestants not getting any help at all.

Over the last few weeks, we've watched five pairs of travellers take part in the ultimate challenge as they've raced across Canada making their way to different checkpoints in an attempt to take home the £20K prize.

Best friends Cathie and Tricia, husband and wife Zainib and Mobeen, and father-and-daughter-duo Ladi and Monique are now left in Wednesday's big final.

But there's been a catch, they've not been able to travel by plane, use a smartphone or the internet - they've also had a strict budget to follow and have had to find innovative ways to reach their different destinations on the 16,000-kilometre route.
