Members of a Kilmarnock gym pushed through the pain and tiredness to raise funds for charity with a marathon 24-hour deadlift event.

KAMMA Gym helped to raise over £1600 for Cash for Kids Day recently with the money going towards helping bring food and fun activities to disadvantaged children across Ayrshire.

The event saw participants complete a bodyweight deadlift every minute for an hour, with 24 members completing the marathon task to make it a full day’s worth of lifting.The gym's Conor Dorrans said: “The team took on the momentous task of completing a bodyweight deadlift every minute, on the minute, for 24 hours shared between 24 participants.

Other members also helped out with raffles and donations throughout.
