Ayr United's new hospitality suite has proved an instant smash hit with punters in a rush to go plush at Somerset Park.Club bosses say they've been bowled over by the initial response to their new North Stand facility, opened in July following its £3 million construction.Success on the park under Scott Brown has been matched in the padded seats, with Ayr's brand new function suite off to a flier.
Spaces to attend games for the rest of the calendar year are already limited, with United chiefs admitting demand has been huge to be part of the new era.Experienced hospitality boss, George Paton, has been drafted in to head up the facility after a career spanning more than 30 years in the game.
Paton, who has enjoyed stints at some of Ayrshire's top bars, restaurants and hotels, admits he is relishing the new challenge at Somerset. He told the Ayrshire Post: "Part of the appeal in coming here was the blank canvas.
