‘Arcane’ confirms series will end with season 2

Riot Games and Netflix have confirmed that Arcane season two will be the series’ last – find out more below.Last night (June 11), a new teaser trailer for the second season of Arcane was released, confirming in the process that the upcoming bunch of episodes will be the show’s last.Per the newly released teaser, Arcane season 2 will pick up immediately after the fallout of season 1, which ended with Jinx (Ella Purnell) launching an attack on the Piltover council, which “sets the stage for a dire escalation of the conflict between Piltover and Zaun,” culminating in a showdown between Jinx and Vi (Hailee Steinfeld).Watch the teaser trailer for Arcane season 2 below.Arcane season 2 is due for release exclusively on Netflix this November, though a confirmed release date has yet to be announced.While Arcane will draw to a close, series co-creator Christian Linke says the show is just “the beginning” of Riot Games’ “larger storytelling journey”.

Linke added: “From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of Arcane wraps up with this second season.

But Arcane is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra.”The first season proved a hit for Netflix. Within a week of debuting, it became number one on the streaming service’s global charts, taking the top spot from K-drama Squid Game.The show also took home Best Adaptation at The Game Awards 2022, winning over the likes of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
