Ant McPartlin's first marriage 'destroyed by addiction before he met true love'
dailyrecord.co.ukIconic British TV host Ant McPartlin is now happily married for a second time with his first marriage struggling under the weight of his past addictions.The 47-year-old Geordie has been in the public eye alongside his sidekick Declan Donnelly since the 1990s with fans following his career from children's soap Byker Grove to SMTV and of course the famous I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.Back in the Smash Hits era, Ant and Dec were lusted after by teens across the country and Ant is said to have loved every minute of the attention.
According to a profile in the Independent, the 'randy' hooked up with women everywhere from, "golf courses, nightclub lavatories, kitchen floors."However, it all came to an abrupt end when he fell for his ex wife Deuce Star Lisa Armstrong on the 1994 Smash Hits tour, the Mirror reports.
Ant was just 18-years-old when he was "instantly attracted" to then 17-year-old singer Lisa, with the two said to be head over heels by the end of the tour.In a rare interview with The Mirror, make-up artist Lisa admitted his good looks made her feel "all gooey".
Before their 2006 wedding she said: "I've always felt relaxed with him. And when we met there was something about his hair and eyes that made me feel all gooey."Ant later gushed about his ex beau in his autobiography, Ooh!
