Andrew Rannells delivered unexpected news during his appearance at the 2024 Tony Awards. The 45-year-old actor was at the show with Gutenberg!
co-star Josh Gad on Sunday (June 16) at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. Andrew, who brought best friend Zuzanna Szadkowski as his date to the Tonys, joined Josh on stage to talk about their show, which was nominated for Best Revival of a Musical.
While on the red carpet, Andrew revealed he’s no longer starring in the upcoming musical Tammy Faye, despite being announced as the lead actor back in March. Keep reading to find out more… “I’m a huge fan of the show and unfortunately we just, you know, we got into a situation where we couldn’t quite find terms that made everyone happy,” he told CBS News. “Which is really disappointing, which is why normally they don’t announce an actor before the contract.” Andrew previously starred in the musical in London and was announced to reprise his role in the Broadway transfer this fall at the newly restored Palace Theatre.
