There’s a new update about the Yesterday lawsuit involving Ana de Armas. If you recall, a group of fans who rented the 2019 movie to see Ana in it, sued Universal Pictures because they were unaware her role had been cut from the film, despite still appearing in the trailer.

In December 2022, a judge had ruled that the lawsuit could move forward, despite Universal’s urging to dismiss. Keep reading to find out more… In the update, it was revealed that the lawsuit has been dismissed.

According to the updated report, via THR, U.S. District Judge Stephen Wilson found that plaintiffs “can’t pursue the proposed class action because they didn’t rely on alleged misrepresentations from the studio when making the decision to watch the film.” In the lawsuit, the two fans had assumed that since Ana was in the trailer, she would be in a big chunk of the film, and was also listed in the cast list when the movie was looked up on the internet.

The two first rented the movie based on that, and found Ana did not appear. However, one of them rented the movie again on Google Play in hopes that Ana would appear in a director’s cut.
