Amina Ismail inquest: Senior nurse at Priory hospital where woman died said misadventure deaths were 'in nature of job' court hears

A senior nurse at a mental health hospital where a young woman died told a colleague it was 'in the nature of the job' that 'pepople like her will die through misadventure', it has been claimed at her inquest.

Whilst the staff member also allegedly suggested Amina Ismail was 'faking it' following a self-harm incident the day before her death at the Priory's Cheadle Royal Hospital, the hearing was told.

Amina was found fatally injured in her room on the Pankhurst Ward, a locked psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU), at the hospital near Stockport on September 15 last year. A pathologist gave her cause of death as 'ligature strangulation.' The 20-year-old, originally from Birmingham, had been diagnosed with emotionally unstable personality disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
