Celtic misfit Alexandro Bernabei is inching closer to a Parkhead exit with a move to Brazil on the cards. The left-back arrived for a fee in the region of £3.75m from Lanus in 2022 becoming the first-ever Argentinian to play for Celtic - and was expected to challenge Greg Taylor for a starting spot at left-back.
While showing flashes of what he is capable of, he has struggled to push for a starting spot - and, at times, to even make the bench.Brendan Rodgers has handed the 23-year-old just nine appearances - only four of which were starts - so far this term and Celtic look set to cut their losses with the full-back with reports suggesting he will be allowed to go on loan to Brazil for the remainder of the campaign.
Reports in South America state he is already in Brazil to iron out the final details of a temporary switch to SC Internacional. The Brazilian market is one of the few options left for Bernabei with the deadline for deals on March 7.
The deal is expected to be green lit by the Hoops before the end of the window.Follow Record Sport on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for all of the up-to-the minute breaking news, video and audio on the SPFL, the Scotland national team and beyond.
