Motherwell chairman Jim McMahon has lifted the lid on the process that's taken chief executive Alan Burrows to fellow Premiership side Aberdeen.The Steelmen were hit with the bombshell news their long-serving CEO would be departing Fir Park after working his way up from the media department to the top brass.
It was announced he would be place until a replacement was found but it was revealed by the Dons on Wednesday that he will start his new job under Dave Cormack at Pittodrie on February 27th.Fans of the Fir Park club have urged their player to show some passion with a banner outside the stadium amid a winless league run that stretches back to before Halloween, and has them locked in a relegation dogfight.
Now criticisms are being launched at the board at the fan-owned side, and McMahon insists the process was fast-tracked to avoid any awkward exchanges.
A recruitment agent is finding Motherwell's replacement while McMahon has also provided his backing for manager Steven Hammell, who is coming under increased pressure the longer the winless streak goes on ahead of a Scottish Cup tie against Raith Rovers on Saturday.He said: "Following the announcement of Alan’s departure as CEO last month, several clubs made contact with him about a potential new role.
