Aberdeen announce Alan Burrows as CEO after Motherwell departure

Aberdeen have announced they have appointed Alan Burrows as chief executive.The long-standing Fir Park chief announced he was stepping down on January 12 after 15 years at the North Lanarkshire club, and Aberdeen have confirmed that he will take up their CEO post on February 27.In his time at the Premiership club, Motherwell have transitioned to fan ownership, recorded highest ever turnover and net profit, achieved a record transfer fee for David Turnbull, highest sponsorship fee and season ticket turnover, played in Europa League and Europa Conference League qualifiers, two domestic cup finals, and won the SFA Youth Cup for the first time.In a statement, Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack said: "Alan has all the experience and qualities you would look for in a chief executive."He's got his finger firmly on the pulse of the Scottish game, is well-respected in football circles and is fully aligned with the strategy and vision we have to drive Aberdeen FC forward."In taking over as chairman, the intention was always to appoint a chief executive.
