A kind-hearted Lanarkshire woman, who is indebted to the charity that gave her friend a reason for living after suddenly losing his sight, has handed over the £9350 she raised by conquering Mount Kilimanjaro.

A year ago, after months of gruelling training, 31-year-old Stacey McCallum succeeded in reaching the summit of the mountain, which sits proudly at 5895 metres high - 19,341 feet above sea level.She was inspired by pal Scott Cunningham - a 51-year-old Larkhall man who was only 23 when his optic nerves died away, completely robbing him of his vision.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
