Stranger Things, arguably the biggest TV series of Netflix's streaming era, is due to end this year with the upcoming fifth season set to be the last for the sci-fi drama.
This won't be the last action from The Upside Down, however, with Netflix confirming on Monday that an animated series based on the show has been ordered.
Little is known in terms of further information, with Variety reporting that Stranger Things creators the Duffer Brothers will be executive producers on the animated show while Eric Robles is developing it, He has previously worked on another Netflix series, Glitch Techs. "We’ve always dreamed of an animated Stranger Things in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons that we grew up loving, and to see this dream realized has been absolutely thrilling,” the Duffer Brothers said in a statement. "We couldn’t be more blown away by what Eric Robles and his team have come up with — the scripts and artwork are incredible, and we can’t wait to share more with you!
The adventure continues…" Stranger Things debuted in 2016 and has made stars of cast members including Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, and Joe Keery.
