A woman was left fuming after discovering her "ignorant" neighbour had been using her garden tap without permission for months.

She returned home from work one day and caught the elderly man using her water spigot to wash his two cars. When she confronted him, she soon discovered it wasn't a one-off and he had been using it for months - despite it being connected to her water meter.

Left reeling, she claimed he refused to stop using the tap that she pays for as he didn't have his own, the Mirror reports.Posting on Reddit, the woman said she was suffering poor mental health because of the stressful situation.

She said: "I have anxiety and almost had a panic attack after my shift because of this and no longer trust my neighbour." Moreover, she's unsure how she can stop him from "acting entitled to my water." She added: "I asked my landlord how to ensure that this will not continue happening when me and my partner are gone at work (usually 5 days a week, 12/13 hours a day with commute) and my landlord just said that he will talk to my neighbour about it," the woman explained."I bought a spigot lock and master lock on Amazon, I just wish it came ASAP.
