Woman and two children killed in horror crash involving double decker bus

A woman and two children have been killed following a horror crash in England. Officers were called to the A61 between South Stainley and Ripley, North Yorkshire, at around 2.20pm on Sunday, September 3, following reports that of an incident involving three vehicles.Authorities say that the woman, who was in her 30's, was traveling in a silver Vauxhall Meriva with a teenage girl and six-year-old boy when the car collided with a blue Toyota Aygo and a double decker bus.

According to the Mirror, the bus had been travelling in the opposite direction to the cars at the time of the crash.Medics rushed to the scene but tragically the woman and two children were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the bus was taken to hospital with leg injuries and some of the passengers were treated for minor injuries.The two people who were travelling in the Toyota were not hurt.

The road was closed for investigators to examine the scene but later re-opened at 11.30pm.A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said their relatives have been informed and are receiving specialist support.
