People heading to a beach in North Wales have been warned to look out for a “fearsome predator” which was washed up on the coast on Wednesday.
Dog walkers on Porth Dafarch beach, Anglesey, found a potentially deadline Portuguese man o’war on October 4. Often referred to as “false jellyfish”, their stings are strong enough to kill fish and in very rare cases they have been known to kill humans.
Beachgoers have been warned not to touch the sea creatures. In September and October man o’war sightings tend to become more common around Britain as sea temperatures peak.
