The thug was wearing all-black clothing and had his hood tied tightly around his face when he launched the unprovoked assault.PS Foster was attacked by Brown from behind as he was struck in the head and neck.
PS Ansell, who was also responding to the incident, began grappling with Brown as he tried to stop the attacks on his colleague but he too was hit several times in the neck and upper body.A third officer, PC Wolstencroft, then fired his taser at the attacker before arresting him.
As reported in Wales Online, PS Ansell realised he was stabbed when he noticed blood coming from his neck.He was left with a serious wound.
