An appeal has been launched to find a 13-year-old girl who has been missing for nearly 24 hours. Emily Harmon, from Ellesmere Port, was last seen by her mum Kirsty at around 4.30pm on Monday.

She was seen heading off to hang out with some friends and was meant to be back three hours later. However, when her mum phoned her at 7.30pm to check where she was, the call went straight to voicemail, the LiverpoolEcho reports. Kirsty, who is currently searching for her daughter in Liverpool, said: "I like to make sure she was on her way home, but her phone was off and I knew from that moment on something had happened.

Since then we have been out at every train station between Ellesmere Port and Birkenhead central. From 9pm last night until 2am I was driving around Rock Ferry, New Ferry, Birkenhead and New Brighton. "About 11am today I got a call from Cheshire Police to say her phone had been pinging between Bebington and Warrington this morning. "I'm absolutely terrified.

I'm really worried about Emily. It's out of character. She's an A* student. I just want her home. Please, please if anybody sees her just ring the police.
