UK weather: Exact date temperatures set to soar back up to 25C this week

The latest weather maps have pin-pointed the exact date when temperatures will rise again, promising highs of 25C. After a chilly start to autumn with widespread frost and a low of minus 2.7C in North Yorkshire on Thursday evening, the UK is set for a warm-up starting this weekend.The South East is seeing temperatures of 19C or 20C this afternoon.

But it's next week that will bring even toastier temps, as WXCharts predicts the mercury will hit 25C at midday on Wednesday, September 18.

Brits can also look forward to similar warmth next Friday and Saturday. Discussing the weekend forecast, Met Office meteorologist Marco Petagna mentioned "mixed conditions" for Scotland and Northern Ireland but added there will be "a lot of fine weather around, with sunny spells and lighter wind" for England and Wales.

Nights will remain cool but not as frosty as recent ones, he noted. Temperatures on Saturday night are expected to dip into the low single figures, around three or four degrees, particularly in southern regions.
