The disgraced former BBC newsreader, Huw Edwards, has received a suspended sentence after admitting to the creation and distribution of indecent images of children.

Edwards, who was once the face of News At Ten, has spent his career reporting on the misconduct of various public figures, from TV personalities to pop stars.

Despite his crimes, he is not behind bars. Instead of serving time in prison, where he would likely have been placed with 'vulnerable' inmates, Edwards has been instructed to complete 25 rehabilitation sessions and a 40-day sex offenders treatment programme.

He is also required to pay £3,000 in costs and has been added to the sex offenders register. READ MORE: 'Our brother was stabbed 34 times in a row over a plate, will we ever get the answers we need?' His six-month prison sentence has been suspended for two years.
