Tragedy as man dies after falling off electric bike

A man has died more than a month after falling from an electric bike. Police do not believe any other vehicles were involved in the incident, which took place in Cheshire on Friday, April 19.

Officers were called out to a collision on Deacon Road, in Widnes, at around 4pm that day. The 60-year-old cyclist, from Widnes, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Aintree Hospital, in Liverpool.

Cheshire Police says the man's injuries were not initially believed to be life-threatening. However, his condition sadly deteriorated, and he died on Wednesday (May 22).

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are urging any witnesses to come forward.
