Tom Cruise is reportedly set to feature in the closing ceremony at the Paris Olympic Games, where he will perform his own stunt. The actor is currently filming the eighth entry in the Mission: Impossible franchise in Europe and Variety reports that he has been tapped by the artistic director of the Games, Thomas Jolly, to make a high-profile impact at the show-closing event on August 11.Cruise has been spotted in attendance at multiple events at the Olympics already, including the women’s gymnastics and the swimming. The French site Sortir A Paris reports that they saw Cruise rehearsing his spot for the ceremony in May, in which he was riding a motorbike with a large flag attached down the Champs- Élysées, with speculation rife that he will be involved in the official handover of the Games to Los Angeles, who will host the Summer Olympics in 2028.Cruise’s representatives have not confirmed the reports. The opening ceremony last Friday (July 26) launched the Games with a divisive four-hour event that included performances from a showstopping Celine Dion, a pre-recorded Lady Gaga and a history-making Gojira.US celebrity presence has also been felt over the course of the last week in Paris, from Snoop Dogg to Flavor Flav, while Taylor Swift and Beyoncé have also been getting in on the act.In other Cruise news, he recently caused chaos at the premiere of Twisters in London.

He was attending in support of his friend and Top Gun Maverick co-star Glen Powell, who stars in the disaster movie. It was also revealed earlier this month that Cruise and director Doug Liman aren’t giving up on plans for a sequel to their 2014 sci-fi action film Edge Of Tomorrow.Cruise was also among those who joined in a crowd singalong of Oasis’ ‘Don’t.
