Alfred Johansson is in charge of F.C. Copenhagen's Under-19s and he talked to this correspondent for an interview last month.
Johansson is one of a number of coaches who observed Rasmus Hojlund's development up close at Copenhagen's academy and he spoke about the striker's progress, his personality and much more.
The Copenhagen coach spoke warmly, in fluent English, about Hojlund's journey for that article and he was in high spirits when speaking again in person after defeating Manchester United. "It wasn't what we expected," Johansson said after the game. "We expected United to defend with a back four and it was a good job from the United's U19 coaching staff to make a game plan that created difficulties for our build-up." The UEFA Youth League mirrors the senior Champions League group stages.
It's an opportunity for youngsters to test themselves against European peers and Copenhagen arrived in Manchester with the perfect record.
