The Go! Team have announced a 20th anniversary tour to celebrate debut album ‘Thunder, Lightning, Strike’, along with details of a reissue. .The Brighton indie group, who released their seventh studio album ‘Get Up Sequences Part Two‘ in February 2023, confirmed online that the new edition of their debut album will be out September 13 via Memphis Industries.The Go!

Team have shared the CDR version of ‘The Power is On’, as well as a Cornershop remix of the album’s ‘Everyone’s a V.I.P. to Someone’.

A new remix will be released every month throughout 2024, with a number of artists contributing new renditions.There will also be a limited Rough Trade exclusive pressing of 500 red and yellow splatter clear vinyls and it comes with a bonus disc of band member Ian Parton’s original CD-R versions of the songs as they were in 2004.A post shared by THE GO!

TEAM (@itsthegoteam)The acclaimed 2004 album was commended for its sonic experimentation and raw production style – with tracks such as ‘Ladyflash’ putting a DIY spin on genres such as Motown and 80s hip-hop.In 2005 ‘Thunder, Lightning, Strike’ was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and a “legal” version of the album was released where the samples that could not be clear in the original had been removed.Tracks from the DIY album went on to do well commercially, with ‘Bottle Rocket’ and ‘Huddle Formation’ being used in TV adverts.In addition to the reissue, they have announced a slew of shows to commemorate their 2004 debut album.
