A seasoned physiologist who has dedicated years studying how to age gracefully has said that a specific workout routine can make you feel 30 to 35 years younger.

Dr Marcas Bamman insists those aged 60 and over should be visiting the gym at least two or three times a week for resistance training.

He claims that most physical deterioration linked with ageing is the consequence of not placing sufficient strain on our bodies.Admitting to the Associated Press, he explained: "When I tell somebody that in four to six months your strength and muscle mass and overall muscle function is going to elevate to the levels of people 30 to 35 years younger, that hits home."Dr Bamman, a research trailblazer at the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition, suggests hitting the gym and engaging with a fitness trainer who can guide you in the correct way to workout. These exercises encompass using weightlifting equipment in order to reinforce muscles in your arms, legs and core region.

He suggests involving yourself in eight to 10 varied exercises each containing 10 repetitions. He further encourages doing this three laps and by the end session, you should feel satisfied and not able to do any more, reports Bristol Live.
