The Chase viewers were sent into a frenzy after spotting how the show’s four contestants all shared their name with one of the Spice Girls.

Host Bradley Walsh got the popular ITV quiz show underway earlier this week by introducing the new players. And fans immediately spotted something familiar about their names. The 62 year old presenter welcomed Gerry, Emma, Mel and Victoria to the show.

Amused viewers took to Twitter to share their delight at the coincidence. One said: "Tonight on the chase…The welcome return and reunion of The Spice Girls (WELL NEARLY)." Another added: “The Chase bringing the Spice Girls back together.” A third posted: Omg the spice girls are on the chase.” A fourth said: “Spice Girls connection on The Chase.” Chaser Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan also spotted the humorous coincidence and mentioned it on the show.

She said to Bradley: “Brad they said it couldn’t be done but you’ve done it." When he asked what she was talking about, she said: “You’ve brought the Spice Girls back together.” Meanwhile, earlier this month Jenny Ryan looked worlds away from her Vixen persona as she stepped out to attend a star-studded red carpet.
