A youth has admitted threatening to stab pupils after turning up at Strathaven Academy with a knife.The 17-year-old caused alarm by banging on a door and demanding entry to the building.

He appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week and admitted threatening or abusive behaviour at the school on October 24. The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

He also admitted carrying a knife in Strathaven on July 29, 2021, breaching a bail curfew and assaulting another male to his severe injury and the danger of his life in Overton Road, Strathaven, on April 15 last year.
