As East Ayrshire Leisure gets ready to bring the magical pantomime Goldilocks and the Three Bears to Kilmarnock this festive season, a call has been put out for talented young dancers aged between 9-16 and in school years P5-S4 to perform on stage in the Junior Ensemble.

This year the children have a truly unique opportunity as due to the current refurbishment of the Palace Theatre the panto has moved to a spectacular big top circus tent. The open auditions will be hosted on Saturday, August 24 at St Joseph’s Leisure Centre.Eric Potts, Artistic Director of Imagine Theatre, said: "Appearing in panto is always an exciting opportunity for children but this year it is even more exciting as it is a rare opportunity for children to have the experience of performing in one of the legendary Chipperfield circus tents."The tent is going to be fully heated as are the changing rooms so it will feel as if we were working in an actual building and not a tent.

It is going to be very comfortable and very exciting for both the cast and the audiences." The auditions will see the youngsters learn a routine and perform as a group to an audition panel.

Any child of the right age regardless of their experience can attend to try out for the show. Steve Boden, Managing Director of Imagine Theatre, the award-winning pantomime producer said: "Ahead of each pantomime season we host open auditions across the UK to find talented youngsters to join our professional cast on stage to bring the panto magic alive.
