Sydney Sweeney Connected With Whistleblower Reality Winner Ahead of Playing Her In 'Reality' Flick

The 25-year-old actress met up with co-stars Marchant Davis, and Josh Hamilton, as well as director Tina Satter, for the event during the 2023 Berlinale International Film Festival at Zoo Palast on Saturday night (February 18) in Berlin, Germany. Sydney stars as Reality Winner in the flick, who was a former intelligence officer who was given the longest prison sentence ever imposed for the unauthorized release of classified material (five years and three months).
Winner had passed documents to the media in 2018 about Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. elections. To prepare for her role, Sydney revealed that she was able to have conversations with Reality. “I had the honor and the privilege of being able to communicate with Reality.
I was able to Zoom with her. Tina connected us, and I would text her throughout the process,” she shared, via Deadline. Sydney added that “when Tina connected us, I was like, ‘Omg, this is a dream for an actor because I’m actually getting to speak with the real person and dive into their mind and what she’s gone through in her life.” Earlier that day, Sydney stepped out in a back-baring look for the press conference.
