Storm Debi is set to bring 'very strong' winds to Greater Manchester today - with several weather warnings issued by the Met Office.
A yellow weather warning for wind came into force for our region at 4am this morning (Monday) and is set to last until 8pm. As Storm Debi sweeps over the UK, heavy rain and 'disruptive' winds will hit Greater Manchester with forecasters warning of travel disruption and power cuts.
The Met Office also predicts there may be 'some damage to buildings' with 'danger to life from flying debris possible'. The strongest winds in our region are forecast this afternoon, with 48mph gusts predicted at around 3pm. The Met Office has also issued an amber warning for parts of North West England which covers much of Lancashire, Cumbria and parts of Merseyside.
