A school in Manchester has been slammed by inspectors who found 'teachers do not know what knowledge should be taught' in some subjects.

Music Stuff, which has five sites across the city, has been rated 'inadequate' by Ofsted. The school standards body has criticised the leadership and management of the organisation which has been told it requires improvements in all areas.

The school says it was in a 'period of transition' when it was inspected in February. It comes after a new headteacher was appointed at the specialist secondary school which has learning centres in Burnage, Clayton and Openshaw.

There were also several other changes to the leadership team before the inspection. Try MEN Premium for FREE by clicking here for no ads, fun puzzles and brilliant new features. The inspection report which was published five months later said that the new leaders at the school are 'thinking more carefully' about what pupils must learn to catch up with others across the country.
