Southport riots: Community comes together to clean up after night of violence and chaos

Pictures show a huge clean-up operation in place this morning after vans were set alight and wheelie bins hurled at police during the violence, which police believe was sparked by members of the far-right English Defence League (EDL).
It followed a peaceful vigil held by members of the Southport community to remember the three young girls who lost their lives in a brutal knife attack on Monday (July 29).

Pictures show diggers and waste removal trucks on the scene as residents use brooms and wheelbarrows to help clear the street.
